Job summary

Kwanlin Dün First Nation seeks an Implementation Advisor to support the final and self-government agreement implementation. Reporting to the Director of Governance, the role focuses on strategic advice, research, and analysis across governance, consultation, and Aboriginal rights.

The candidate will develop recommendations, negotiate arrangements, and represent KDFN interests with governments and partners, balancing priorities and deadlines with professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Degree in First Nation Governance, Public Administration or a related field combined with significant experience in policy, intergovernmental relations or equivalent.
  • Experience applying relevant public policy theory, research tools and analytical methodologies.
  • Significant experience leading and managing.
  • Experience crafting and analyzing agreements, policies, briefing materials and discussion papers (preferably in a government setting).
  • Experience providing analysis and recommendations on complex agreements involving multiple partners (preferably in a government setting).
  • Knowledge of Yukon Final & Self-government agreements is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice, research, and analysis on treaty implementation, governance, consultation, Aboriginal rights, and intergovernmental relations.
  • Develop recommendations and policy positions; negotiate implementation arrangements.
  • Represent KDFN interests in discussions with governments, organizations, and partners.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
