Job summary

Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin (KIM) invites applications for a Governance Policy Analyst to support governance and strategic health planning for northern First Nations in Manitoba. The role focuses on researching policy, analyzing data, and preparing evidence-informed recommendations to improve health outcomes, with emphasis on community engagement and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in health policy, public health, public administration, political science, Indigenous studies, law or a related field.
• Deep understanding of health systems and northern/remote communities.
• Knowledge of policy development processes and regulatory environments.
• Strong communication and networking abilities with community partners.
• Experience in community engagement or policy work in northern contexts is an asset.
• Proficiency with computer software applications including MS Office 365.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work respectfully with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare analytical materials such as briefing notes, reports, and summaries.
• Contribute to strategic action plans that inform health service improvements.
• Support CEO and Governance Lead with meeting prep and briefing materials.
• Prepare meeting materials and reports for KIM's governance structures.
• Review provincial and federal health care legislation and policies affecting First Nations.
• Support community engagement activities for health transformation.
• Assist in communicating information to stakeholders and gathering feedback.
• Participate in committees and inter-sectoral tables to address health gaps.
