Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited invites a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Canadian operations, based in Quebec. You will lead procurement planning, tendering, and bid evaluation, ensuring best value while aligning with our health, safety and environmental standards.

Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Construction across site locations (Val-d’Or, Rouyn‑Noranda, Mirabel) with a hybrid on-site/remote schedule; travel up to 30% to mining sites and supplier facilities.

Qualifications

• College or Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Finance, Accounting, Business Law, Marketing, or Engineering.
• Procurement certification (CSCP, CPP, CMA or CPSM) is an asset.
• Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry; mining experience is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills.
• Fluent in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Procurement planning, tendering, and evaluation of bids.
• Ensure compliance with AEM processes and procedures for procurement activity.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Construction on bid packages and scopes of work.

The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.

• Responsible for the procurement planning, tendering, and evaluation of bids.
• Responsible for ensuring that AEM processes and procedures are being followed as it relates to procurement activity.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Construction in developing bid packages / scopes of works.
• Ensure that goods and services will be procured for the most economically beneficial price which meets the specified requirements relative to the scope of work, quality, and schedule.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• College or Bachelor’s degree in one of these sectors (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Law, Marketing, or Engineering
• A procurement certification (CSCP, CPP, CMA or CPSM) is an asset.
• Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset);
• Cultural awareness and understanding of work in Indigenous communities is an asset;
• Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
• Strong ability to effectively communicate in English and French.

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule or 5-2 depending local policy and may change to suit business needs;
• Workplace: Workplace: A combination of remote work and on-site work at our offices in Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, or Mirabel as per Company’s policies;
• Travel: 30% travel to mining sites, other offices, or suppliers.
