Job summary

City of Regina is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to coordinate the Purchasing area under the Procurement And Supply Chain leadership. You will participate in setting short and long-range plans, budgets, and staffing decisions to optimise procurement across the corporation.

You will supervise staff, develop policies, and ensure compliance with purchasing laws, trade agreements, and corporate bylaws while advising client departments and managing supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Administration or Commerce and a recognized purchasing designation such as SCMP or CPPO.
• Five to eight years in a senior purchasing role with supervisory experience.
• Thorough knowledge of large-scale purchasing operation and competitive bidding.

Responsibilities

• Participates in setting and implementing short- and long-range plans for purchasing services.
• Develops budgets and controls expenditures for the work unit.
• Develops, implements and monitors control systems for procurement processes.
• Oversees centralized transaction account reconciliations and processing of purchasing transactions.
• Primary contact for procurement activity and providing procurement advice internally and externally.
• Oversees preparation and assessment of activity statistics and reports for strategic sourcing.
