Job summary

WestJet Group is seeking an Advisor, Public and Media Relations to shape how the world understands WestJet's vision, culture and brand. You will proactively tell stories, develop narratives and partner with leaders to communicate effectively across traditional and digital channels.

You will build trusted relationships with journalists and internal stakeholders, monitor media, and craft messages that reflect WestJet's culture and strategic priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or higher in PR, communications, journalism or related field.
• 4-5 years in public relations, media relations or corporate communications.
• Ability to translate complex business concepts into clear, human messaging under tight timelines.
• Experience building relationships with journalists and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute PR and media strategies to generate earned media across traditional and digital channels.
• Identify authentic stories that reflect WestJet's vision, culture and brand.
• Draft speaking remarks, media briefs and key messages for leaders.
• Monitor media coverage and produce insights linking activities to brand value and reach.
• Support rapid, clear messaging during fast-moving issues and protect WestJet's reputation.
