Job summary

YWCA Calgary seeks an Associate Director, Philanthropy & Development to translate strategy into actionable plans and sustainable revenue growth. This senior leader will oversee philanthropy operations, foster equity-centered leadership, and maintain an active donor portfolio while supporting the CEO and VP with key donor relations.

The role emphasizes strategic fundraising, major gifts, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen donor engagement and ensure accountability in revenue

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of progressively responsible fundraising experience including senior leadership.
• Experience developing and implementing multi-channel fundraising strategies and achieving targets.
• Proven donor and prospect relationship management including major gifts.
• Experience leading teams and collaborating across functions.
• Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, revenue analysis and risk management.
• Experience with fundraising CRM, data governance, moves management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-, intermediate-, and long-term fundraising plans aligned with strategy.
• Lead integrated fundraising programs across annual giving, major gifts, grants, events, and partnerships.
• Set annual work plans, goals, measures, and accountability; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Grow donor pipeline, retention, and movement across giving levels.
• Support campaign planning and lead priority fundraising initiatives.
• Ensure ethical fundraising practices and compliance with policies and regulations.
