Job summary

Nature United in Canada seeks an Associate Director of Philanthropy to lead a portfolio of major gifts and advance cross-border fundraising. You will build donor relationships, develop multi-year strategies, and collaborate with teams to align priorities with funding opportunities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of fundraising experience, success closing six-figure gifts, and the ability to manage complex proposals, budgets, and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related fundraising experience or equivalent.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
  • Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more.
  • Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Fundraising principles and practices training or coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a portfolio of 75-125 qualified donors and prospects with capacity to give $100,000+.
  • Achieve annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000+.
  • Collaborate with Major Gifts to build a donor pipeline and qualify leads.
  • Develop and execute strategies to engage, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and donors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop cases, proposals, budgets and reports.
  • Lead fundraising strategy across the organization, including US-based prospects.
  • Support stewardship of US-based middle donors as part of pipeline-building.
