Job summary

Spectrum Control is seeking a Buyer to procure raw materials and MRO items, ensuring on-time delivery, margin, and quality while maintaining accurate records in the MRP system.

The role involves expediting orders, evaluating suppliers, and coordinating with production to support the manufacturing schedule within an on-site facility in Canada. Strong knowledge of MRP and purchasing processes is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Knowledge of MRP and purchasing procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Expedite parts and materials by processing MRP messages and manage inventory levels.
• Place orders, quotes, reschedule, and cancel parts from MRP and enter data into system.
• Maintain procurement records including costs, delivery, and inventories in MRP system.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor movement of materials through production using company spreadsheets.
• Monitor corrective action responses and coordinate with Quality as needed.
• Meet with vendors for price, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate sources of supply considering cost, delivery, quality, and risk.
