Job summary

GARAGA Overhead Doors in Barrie, ON is seeking an Assistant Controller to provide analytical support to manufacturing operations and drive cost control and profitability.

You will partner with production and operations to standardize costs, analyze variances, prepare monthly closings, and support budgets and forecasts. Strong Excel, ERP, and bilingual communication are required to navigate supplier interactions and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3 to 7 years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of full accounting cycle and cost accounting.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP system and advanced Excel.
• Bilingual French and English is required for collaboration with suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard product costs and validate variances.
• Analyze production, material, labor, and efficiency variances.
• Monitor inventory and perform adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with production, purchasing and operations to ensure data accuracy.
• Support margin and profitability analysis by product, project or customer.
• Contribute to KPIs and participate in physical inventory counts.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing and financial reporting.
