Douglas Barwick is hiring a full-time Controller in Brockville, Ontario to oversee the financial and accounting operations of our manufacturing facility. The Controller reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for producing financial reports, maintaining accounting records and controls, managing the accounting team, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. This position offers an annual salary of $110,000. As such, we require all candidates to have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration as well as at least five years of experience in accounting or finance, showing progressive responsibility. Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting and the ability to become and remain a subject matter expert in all aspects of accounting and finance are critical. We also consider experience with a manufacturing-related ERP to be an asset, as well as prior experience with Epicor Kinetic. There is a managerial aspect to this position that necessitates excellent interpersonal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to resolve conflict. Excellent oral and written English communication skills are also a requirement. Key duties for this role include overseeing payroll processing for the hourly employees to ensure accuracy and compliance with the applicable regulations, as well as analyzing and summarizing financial data and providing strategic recommendations. Furthermore, the Controller is responsible for the chart of accounts, keeps a system of controls and best practices, and ensures the accurate and timely recording and analysis of revenues and expenses. This role is also responsible for managing various provincial and federal government reporting requirements and input tax filings and overseeing all physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
The Controller must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Furthermore, we consider experience and skill to be a top priority for this position.
Working hours: 40-0 hours per week.
