Job summary

You will oversee a professional team and collaborate with federal, provincial, and industry partners to advance skilled trades priorities.

Qualifications

  • University degree as described; equivalent combinations considered.
  • Significant experience leading complex programs in multi-partner environments.
  • Experience managing and developing professional teams; fostering inclusive, high-performing workplaces.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship systems, workforce development, curriculum/standards, examinations or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience analyzing complex issues and providing evidence-informed recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead occupational and curriculum standards, logbooks, examinations, transfer credit, credential recognition, and related services.
  • Oversee participation in interprovincial Red Seal development and harmonization.
  • Represent NS on national/regional committees for apprenticeship standards and policy.
  • Drive modernization, risk management and continuous improvement across programs.
  • Manage resources and align priorities with government objectives.
