Job summary

University of Waterloo is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist within Human Resources to manage, design, and deliver employee development programming university-wide.

The role collaborates across HR to align offerings with organizational needs, coordinates customized initiatives, and supports events, conferences, and learning experiences. Strong communication and discretion required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Development and Advancement of Learning Strategies
• Support University of Waterloo employees in identifying and accessing meaningful learning and professional development opportunities that respond to individual, team, and organizational needs
• Build and maintain strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships across departments, teams, and individuals
• Collaborate with CHRO portfolio to ensure offerings align with priorities, roles, and competencies
• Monitor emerging needs and inform continuous improvement of OHD programming
• Collaborate with other Specialists to develop learning opportunities for growth and leadership
• Design, develop, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of learning programs using adult learning practices
• Evaluate programs using feedback and data to assess effectiveness and improvements
