Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of our partner company, seeks a Strategy Lead for British Columbia Improved Forest Management based in Canada. This senior role guides transformational forest conservation and management, overseeing place-based initiatives with First Nations and partners to advance 2030 goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in conservation, natural resource management, forestry, or related field.
  • Experience managing complex multi-project portfolios with financial coordination.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with First Nations, nonprofits, governments, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of forest and natural resource policy in BC and Canada.
  • Systems-thinking mindset to connect local initiatives with broader strategy.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements involving government bodies and private sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership, setting objectives, motivating teams, and promoting wellbeing.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the IFM strategy in British Columbia, directing long-term conservation and forest management objectives.
  • Own and refine the IFM Theory of Change, using reviews and insights to maintain impact.
  • Work with metrics teams to establish success indicators and monitor progress toward 2030 goals.
  • Build alignment with First Nations, governments, funders, NGOs and other partners.
  • Represent the IFM strategy to internal and external audiences to build understanding and support.
  • Coordinate with conservation, forestry, climate, and other strategy teams to integrate priorities.
  • Lead budgeting, work planning, risk management, and adaptive management with project colleagues.
  • Oversee a collaborative, high-performing IFM team and foster wellbeing.
  • Travel ~10–20% and maintain flexible hours to support partnerships.
