Job summary

BC Hydro is seeking a seasoned Professional Forester to support vegetation management and timber harvesting projects across British Columbia. You will analyze data, prepare forestry opinions, and contribute to planning and contract development for large-scale infrastructure work.

Based in Kamloops, the role requires travel across the province, environmental awareness, and strong collaboration with First Nations, regulators, and private landowners.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in good standing or eligible for registration in BC.
• Eight+ years of related forestry experience with emphasis on forest management, planning, and operations.
• Knowledge of BC forest legislation, environmental resources, and utilities requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary projects for forestry requirements of vegetation management.
• Analyze and interpret technical studies to provide forestry opinions and support planning decisions.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for forestry and vegetation management activities.
• Supervise contracts for clearing, access construction, and related activities.
• Coordinate with Operations, Environment, Permitting, and other teams and communicate progress.
