Job summary

United Way British Columbia is seeking a strategic leader to implement organizational priorities, build trusted partnerships, and translate strategy into action across BC communities. This role oversees grant processes, evaluation, and staff development, with a focus on equity and community-informed practice.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Community Impact & Investment, the role drives program planning, collaboration, and reporting, while supporting a staff team across the province.

Qualifications

• University degree in social sciences, public administration, community development, or related field.
• Combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector or similar setting.
• Experience in community engagement and grant making is an asset.
• Equity, inclusion, and community-informed practice knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate grant lifecycle from concept to reporting.
• Develop grant guidelines and review criteria.
• Lead application intake and adjudication processes.
• Monitor grant agreements, payments, and compliance.
• Track performance, risks, and outcomes for reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners on priorities.
• Translate strategy into coordinated work plans and actions.
• Supervise a provincial staff team and foster accountability.
• Facilitate networks and partnerships to advance priorities.
• Represent the organization on committees and task forces.
• Provide coaching to staff to strengthen practices.
