Job summary

United Way BC in British Columbia seeks a Manager, Projects & Operations to oversee administrative and project delivery within the Community Impact & Investment department. The role leads a team, coordinates cross‑functional initiatives, and aligns workflows with organizational priorities.

You will manage team development, process improvements, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective planning, tracking, and reporting to support strong program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in program operations, project management, or related nonprofit/community work.
• Strong people leadership, staff development, and supervision capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to prepare reports and briefing notes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members; plan workflows.
• Develop, implement, and improve departmental procedures and service standards.
• Oversee projects and operational initiatives with timelines and resources.
• Build relationships with stakeholders, funders, and internal teams.
• Monitor budgets, reconciliations, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Provide reports, presentations, and knowledge-sharing materials.
