Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. We operate GO Transit, UP Express, and the PRESTO fare payment system. Our projects include expanding rapid transit options like GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major Toronto subway system upgrades. We are hiring a Strategic Human Resources Business Partner to support our Operations Rapid Transit and Asset Management & Maintenance divisions. The SHRBP will deliver strategic HR advice, lead HR initiatives, and support change management tailored to business needs.

What will I be doing?
  1. Supporting senior leadership in talent management, performance, workforce planning, employee relations, succession planning, engagement, leadership coaching, communication, and organizational design.
  2. Managing employee relations issues, including workplace disputes and investigations.
  3. Using HR metrics to analyze data, identify issues, and develop tailored HR solutions.
  4. Implementing corporate HR initiatives like succession and talent management, customizing strategies per business unit.
  5. Providing HR guidance on policies, legislation, and regulations, and collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence.
  6. Supporting change management strategies for major projects and organizational transformations.
  7. Participating in business planning to assess workforce needs and organizational structure.
  8. Leading and mentoring HR Generalists and teams to improve processes and programs.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  1. Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related; CHRP/CHRL is an asset.
  2. Experience in HR generalist roles, including performance, talent, and organizational design, with knowledge of relevant legislation.
  3. Expertise in HR disciplines and practices, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  4. Ability to develop data-driven HR strategies.
  5. Excellent communication skills for consulting, reporting, and presentations.
  6. Leadership skills for coaching and guiding teams and executives.
  7. Relationship-building and influencing skills.
  8. Knowledge of organizational design, change, and project management principles.
