Job summary

WSP is seeking a growth‑driven Business Development Leader for the Earth & Environment business in the Prairies and Northern Canada. You will shape regional growth strategies, build client relationships, and lead capture efforts across multiple sectors to drive revenue.

Your experience should include 8–10 years in business development within professional services, strong team leadership, and a track record of winning major pursuits. French is a plus; MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or post‑graduate degree in engineering, business, marketing, communications, sciences.
• French language skillsets desirable but not required.
• 8–10 years’ relevant experience related to business development and growth within a professional services firm.
• Experience in the development and execution of capture and/or strategic pursuit planning including strategy and proposal management.
• Experience in the professional services consulting industry with emphasis on proposal management and/or writing.
• Experience leading a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment toward common goals and objectives.
• Strong multi-tasking and deadline-driven capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute regional growth strategies, strategic planning initiatives, and key account plans that drive revenue across Prairie & Northern Canada.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities with regional leaders, technical experts, and client teams.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
• Lead strategic capture planning and major pursuits to improve win rates and secure high‑value projects.
• Oversee and mentor the regional proposals and pursuits team, ensuring best practices and governance.
• Facilitate growth reviews, client strategy discussions, and opportunity planning sessions for leadership insights.
• Collaborate nationally across business lines and corporate functions to maximize growth opportunities.
• Champion collaboration, safety, ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement.
