Job summary

Canlan Sports in Burnaby seeks a Director of Finance to lead financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making. Reporting to the CFO, you will drive budgeting, forecasting, and board-ready reporting while building a resilient financial model and reinforcing controls.

You will coordinate with legal, insurance, and procurement teams to manage risk, contracts, and capital planning, ensuring accurate statements and timely compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in progressive finance roles with team leadership.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite/Workday) is a plus.
• Hospitality or multi-site experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A, provide timely financial analysis and forecasts.
• Mentor and supervise a Financial Analyst.
• Own annual budgeting end-to-end with department leaders.
• Support rolling forecasts and improve forecasting processes.
• Prepare consolidated P&L and cash flow forecasts for reporting.
• Support month-end/year-end close and board reporting.
• Oversee tax planning, IFRS compliance, and audits.
• Collaborate on contract reviews and risk management.
