Job summary

Novara Human Capital Solutions in Calgary, AB seeks a Head of Finance to lead all financial operations, including accounting, FP&A, reporting, budgeting, treasury, and internal controls. This senior role partners with leadership to guide business decisions while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The Head of Finance will oversee budgeting, forecasting, monthly closes, and collaboration with operations to optimize project execution and cash flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, and GL.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to track financial performance.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, and banking relationships.
• Lead year-end close and liaise with external accountants.
• Mentor and develop finance team and ensure internal controls.
