Job summary

Sun Life Financial is seeking a Director of Enterprise Architecture Strategy for Core Platform in Montreal. You will shape future-state architectures across cloud, on-premises, networks and services, translating business priorities into actionable roadmaps and standards.

Lead governance, collaborate with senior leaders, and ensure architecture decisions align with security, resilience and cost goals. The role blends strategic direction with practical implementation leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive architecture experience, including enterprise or cross-domain responsibility.
• Experience developing enterprise technology strategies, future-state architectures, and roadmaps.
• Broad knowledge of cloud platforms, networks, OS, middleware, identity, security, APIs, and platform engineering.
• Proven ability to influence senior business and technology leaders with clear analysis and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Define future-state architectures, transition roadmaps, principles, standards, reference architectures, and decision boundaries.
• Provide strategic analysis, visibility and executive reporting into architecture decisions, investments, risks and outcomes.
• Lead architecture governance and ensure decisions are documented, traceable, and aligned with security and cost objectives.
• Partner with engineering and operations leaders to validate practical and sustainable architecture direction.
• Translate business priorities into actionable architecture priorities and measurable outcomes.
