Job summary

Solaris Management Consultants Inc. is seeking a highly organized Buyer to manage the procurement lifecycle for energy-sector projects across North America.

You will source suppliers, pre-qualify vendors, prepare bid packages, evaluate bids, and administer purchase orders while coordinating with clients, engineering teams, and construction personnel. You will monitor supplier performance, support contract negotiations, and maintain procurement records to ensure timely project execution.

Qualifications

• A technical college graduate with 5–10 years related experience.
• SCMP designation preferred or similar.
• Specialized procurement or business courses with knowledge of commercial/legal aspects.
• Experience with purchasing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and projects in a fast-paced schedule.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement trackers and summaries.
• Source and pre-qualify suppliers.
• Prepare bid packages, issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and issue purchase recommendations.
• Administer purchase orders per procedures.
• Coordinate with clients and engineering teams to secure approvals.
• Monitor supplier performance and project documentation.
• Negotiate contracts and terms.
