Job summary

OCL Group Inc., a Canadian general contractor, seeks an experienced Corporate Accountant to join the Edmonton finance team. You will support month-end close, cash management, and accounts payable while strengthening internal controls across the corporate finances.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and requires meticulous accounting skills, regulatory compliance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Edmonton-based role with private ownership culture.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or working towards one is considered an asset.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to manage multiple deliverables.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, and familiarity with Google Workspace.
• Strong ability to analyze and reconcile financial data and provide recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for fast paced environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and apply new concepts.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must reside in the Edmonton area and have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and month-end journal entries and accruals.
• Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements and analyses.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and review intercompany balances.
• Support cash management activities including short-term borrowings and FX transactions.
• Enter A/R invoices and coordinate with billing to resolve discrepancies.
• Support tax and statutory obligations including GST, payroll deductions, and filings.
• Analyze lease proposals and maintain capital lease schedules for reporting.
• Prepare fixed asset subledger and related reconciliations.
• Prepare schedules for audits and external reviews.
• Assist accounts payable with invoices, payments, and subledger reconciliations.
• Maintain training documentation and cross-train team members.
