Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join the finance team in Edmonton, AB. The role supports accurate monthly close, cash management, AR processing, and AP cycle assistance, reporting to the Financial Controller.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or working towards one would be considered an asset.
• Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to track and manage multiple deliverables.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced skills in Excel, and familiarity with Google Workspace applications.
• Strong ability to analyze and reconcile financial and related business data, with the ability to identify issues and provide recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and apply new concepts to evolving business needs.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must reside in the Edmonton area and have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and month-end journal entries and accruals.
• Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements, including supporting schedules and corporate-level analysis.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and review intercompany balances for accuracy across entities.
• Support day-to-day cash management activities, including short-term borrowing, FX transactions, electronic payments, cheques, wires.
• Enter accounts receivable invoices into Eclipse daily, coordinate with billing to resolve discrepancies.
• Support tax and statutory obligations, payroll deductions, GST, WCB, PST filings.
• Contribute to equipment financing by analyzing leases and reporting to management.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger with additions, disposals, amortization, and reconciliations.
• Prepare supporting docs for audits and external reviews.
• Assist accounts payable with postings, payments, and subledger reconciliations.
• Maintain training docs and cross-train team members.
