Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions, Inc. in Western Canada seeks a Supply Chain Lead to drive procurement for large-scale infrastructure, industrial and construction projects.

You will lead sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and ensure timely material and service acquisition to support project execution. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, the role blends strategic sourcing with negotiations and strong stakeholder collaboration in a fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• CPP, SCMP, or similar professional designation is considered an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial experience.
• Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
• Strong contract negotiation and vendor management experience.
• Proven ability to deliver cost savings and procurement value.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with construction materials, equipment procurement, subcontract management, or project procurement is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with project and operational requirements.
• Lead competitive bid processes, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Identify opportunities to optimize costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance procurement performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, purchase orders, and supply contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery schedules, and contractual compliance.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, operations, estimating, finance, and construction personnel.
• Support procurement planning, material forecasting, and project execution requirements.
• Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supplier capabilities to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Assist in developing and improving procurement procedures, standards, and best practices.
• Contribute to supply chain risk management and business continuity initiatives.
