Job summary

Canada Life, in-house compensation expert for assigned client portfolios within the Canada segment, provides strategic guidance on pay decisions, balancing market competitiveness, internal equity, and governance.

You will partner with HR and business leaders, analyze market data, and deliver data-driven recommendations that support talent attraction, retention, and engagement while driving continuous program improvements.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive compensation experience with advising senior leaders.
  • CCP or CHRL designation or meaningful progress toward either preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market benchmarking, pay governance, and job evaluation methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day compensation advisory services for assigned portfolios, advising HR Partners and senior leaders on complex pay decisions and governance matters.
  • Build understanding of client businesses to deliver relevant compensation reviews and projects.
  • Participate in salary surveys; analyze market data and monitor industry trends.
  • Partner with HR and leaders on job architecture topics including job evaluation and alignment with compensation philosophy.
  • Prepare and present compensation analyses, reports, dashboards, and insights for decision-making.
  • Support annual compensation cycle and collaborate with Centres of Excellence to ensure effective program administration.
