Job summary

Government of Alberta is seeking an Intermediate Communications Specialist to support Court Technology Services with clear, timely communications across executive messaging, change initiatives, and stakeholder engagement.

The role focuses on translating complex technical and business information into concise communications, developing templates, and producing professional presentations and visual materials for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing effective communication plans.
• Experience developing professional internal and organizational communications, including executive/leadership messages, employee communications, organizational announcements, newsletters, briefing materials, and other products.
• Experience developing professional presentations and visual communication materials for senior leadership and organizational audiences.
• Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
• Experience reviewing existing communications and recommending or implementing improvements.
• Strong professional business writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex business or technical information into clear, concise, audience-appropriate communications.
• Experience working directly with executives, senior leaders, managers, and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Develop executive communications on behalf of the Executive Director.
• Prepare branch updates, organizational announcements, leadership messages, and employee communications.
• Prepare monthly CTS Branch communications using information provided by the Executive Director and CTS leadership.
• Develop communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with Alberta Courts standards.
• Develop effective communication strategies and plans.
• Support organizational transformation and technology initiatives through strategic communications.
• Provide communications advice to CTS leadership and stakeholders.
• Create professional communication products including executive presentations, notes, newsletters, and infographics.
• Translate complex information into clear, audience-focused communications.
