You will work closely with the Finance Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, strengthen financial controls, and provide exceptional service internally and externally.

This is a great opportunity for an accounting leader who thrives in high-growth environments and wants to make a meaningful impact on a fast-scaling healthtech company.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop scalable monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Standardize financial reporting practices and ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP.
  • Manage and enhance the chart of accounts; develop accounting policies and document workflows for training and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and compliance.
  • Support the annual audit process, including timely responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist with external investor and lender reporting requirements.
  • Support the CFO with the annual budgeting process and potentially own Balance Sheet and Cash Flow budget & forecasts.

Accounting Operations

  • Own global payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing.
  • Partner with the Finance Manager to implement policies for cash handling, procurement, expense management, and approvals.
  • Optimize the accounting operations workflow to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability.
  • Assist the CFO in evaluating and improving financial systems and fintech tools (e.g., QBO, Chargebee, Expensify) to support automation and insight generation.

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Mentor and support junior team members to elevate capability and performance.
  • Contribute to building out a future finance team as the company scales.
  • Educate non-finance teams on budgeting, spend controls, compliance expectations, and financial processes.
  • Serve as a key finance partner for cross-functional stakeholders across the business.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally with exposure to high-growth or startup environments (Series A–C preferred).
  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience; cross-border payroll exposure (North America + offshore contractors) is an asset.
  • Strong accounting operations experience, including AR, AP, month-end reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP and experience supporting annual audits; prior audit experience with Big 4 is preferred.
  • Experience with accounting and financial tools such as QBO, Chargebee, and Expensify (admin/super-user experience is an asset).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous, scaling environment.
  • Growth mindset, accountability, strong collaboration skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Why Join Us

  • Lead and build core financial systems during a pivotal growth moment.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and influence company direction.
  • Join a mission-driven team helping people live healthier, longer lives.
  • Hybrid flexibility from Mississauga with long-term career growth opportunities.
