Job summary

Domtar is seeking a Stores Person at the Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Mill in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The role focuses on moving parts, maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring parts are available for trades on request.

Candidate should have a high school diploma, WHMIS and TDG knowledge, forklift certification, and familiarity with SAP and MS Office. The position includes weekend on-call duties and potential shift changes following training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• WHMIS certification is required.
• TDG certification is required.
• Forklift Operator Certification is required.
• Warehouse management training is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move products and materials to designated locations in Stores.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and proper stocking levels.
• Manage inventory transactions and documentation.
• Assist tradespersons and operators in locating parts.
• Perform counting, weighing and sorting tasks.
• Operate forklift for unloading and moving products.
• Provide relief coverage and develop skills across store roles.
• On-call weekend scheduling in Stores department.

Domtar is seeking talent to fill the position of Stores Person at the Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Mill in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. This job is Permanent Full Time.

The Stores Person is responsible for moving products and materials to the designated locations in the Stores area to ensure that spare parts and inventory for the mill are accurately stored and available for the trades on request. The Stores Person is also accountable for checking received orders and confirming that all inventory transactions are completed and documented.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure spare parts and operating supplies are secure and available on a timely basis while maintaining proper inventory levels for the entire site
• Maintains the Stores and inventory system to ensure the supply of goods needed to support maintenance and operations while maintaining minimum cost
• Minimize overstock and removal of obsolete/redundant parts and materials
• Assist Tradespersons & Operators in locating parts
• Perform other handling duties such as counting, weighing, and sorting
• Use a forklift for unloading and moving products when needed
• Support store operations by providing relief coverage and developing skills across multiple store roles.
• Scheduled on-call in the Stores department on weekends

What You Bring:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred
• WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
• Forklift Operator Certification
• Warehouse Management training
• Previous inventory-related work experience is considered an asset
• Strong computer proficiency, including experience using SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook), with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
• Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and high attention to detail
• Ability to establish and maintain supportive working relationships
• Flexible, well organized and able to multi-task
• A high sense of urgency with regards to operational requirements
• Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time
• Upon successful completion of training, employees may be eligible to transition to a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week
