Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Claresholm Hospital is seeking a Stores I to handle picking, packing, shipping and receiving of medical and hospital supplies across local sites.

The role requires Grade 12, ability to lift up to 25 kg, push/pull heavy carts, and basic computer skills; it is a casual/relief position with varied shifts and a pay range of CAD 25.24–28.21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Ability to push/pull heavy wheeled carts up to 275 kg.
• Capable of walking and standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Perform picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of hospital supplies.
• Process requisitions and distribute supplies; track inventory to prevent overstock.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure accurate quantities across sites.

Job description

Claresholm is a hub of health and wellness for all ages. Located approximately 1 hour south of Calgary and is the home of 3 inpatient Health Care Facilities in which CPSM operates out of, including the Continuing Care Centre, the Mental Health & Addiction Centre as well as the General Hospital. CPSM also supports several off-site Health Care programs throughout the community including Lander Treatment Centre, Community Mental Health, Public Health and Home Care.As a Stores I, you will be responsible for issuing, replenishing and restocking of medical/surgical supplies throughout the Hospital and various Health Centre's. Other key functions you will perform include moderately complex clerical and manual duties involved in shipping, receiving, warehousing, as well as transporting and delivering supplies within the sites and between the various AHS sites within the town. As an integral link in the Health Care chain, you will have the opportunity to provide optimum customer service and in doing so contribute to the highest level of patient care.

Description:

As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with established guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicate frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantities of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs.Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time.Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to read, write and comprehend english fluently.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers and vendors.Attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision.Reliable, cooperative and able to demonstrate effective service attitude.Maintain a positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities.Experience in the use of a computer and microsoft software.Able to occasionally move pallets, using manual jack, exceeding 1200kg requiring a pushing force of 20kg.Available to report to work within 60mins.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a computerized invemtory control system.Experience in shippping and receiving, warehousing and material handling.Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques.Knowledge of tdg and whmis.
