Job summary

Vessi is a Vancouver-based brand seeking a Store Leader to support daily operations across our retail network. You will assist with opening/closing, shipments, inventory, and customer issues while upholding the water-first identity and brand standards.

You’ll mentor Sales Associates, lead by example to boost sales, monitor KPIs, and maintain a welcoming store culture. Strong communication and flexible availability are essential.

Wage Range: $21.00–$24.00 per hour

What You’ll Do

Store Operations

• Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day operations, including opening and closing, processing shipments, inventory management, loss prevention and health and safety.
• Act as floor manager on duty during your shifts. Assign breaks and zones, and keep the team focused on priorities.
• Roll out visual merchandising updates, keep displays looking sharp between floor sets, and share feedback on what’s driving sales.
• Keep the store clean and organized, including maintaining our water installations and fixtures.
• Handle customer issues and escalations, finding solutions that leave every customer happy.
• Share shift updates, wins and challenges with the leadership team so nothing falls through the cracks.
• Other duties as required.
• Support onboarding and train Sales Associates on product, SOPs and best practices so every team member feels confident on the floor.
• Coach Sales Associates in the moment, give regular feedback on selling and customer interactions, and help each person improve.
• Mentor Sales Associates in their growth at Vessi, help them build their skills, and support those interested in stepping into leadership roles.
• Hold the team accountable to store standards, SOPs and performance expectations, and follow up on gaps with clear, respectful conversations.
• Build a strong store culture where team members feel recognized, motivated and engaged.
• Guide the team through day-to-day challenges and minor conflicts, and elevate to the Store Manager when needed.

Performance

• Be a Vessi brand ambassador and model a customer-first mindset, especially during busy or tricky moments.
• Lead by example in driving sales, reinforce selling behaviours and promotions during the shift, and help the team meet and exceed its goals.
• Monitor store KPIs during your shifts, including conversion, average order value (AOV), sales per hour (SPH) and inventory metrics.
• Track sales against labour throughout your shift, and adjust staffing, breaks and zones to match customer traffic.
• Analyze daily and weekly performance reports, spot trends and opportunities, and turn them into clear actions for the team.

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ years of leadership experience (team lead, key holder, supervisor or similar)
• Experience in apparel and footwear retail or hospitality is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
• Great attention to detail
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with confidence coaching and giving feedback
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
