Job summary

Vessi in Vancouver, Canada, is looking for an Assistant Store Manager at Metrotown, Burnaby. In this full-time role, you will partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will recruit and mentor a high-performing team, manage schedules, and ensure standards in merchandising, inventory, and health and safety. This position requires flexibility, strong communication, and a passion for the Vessi brand.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail management experience, ideally in footwear or apparel.
• A track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Sharp attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Full open availability Monday through Sunday, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak retail periods, including Black Friday, Boxing Day, and the holiday season.
• Customer obsession: create memorable experiences and coach your team to read customer needs.
• Sales leadership: lead from the floor and drive KPIs into daily actions.
• Coaching & development: give feedback and grow team members into leaders.
• Operational excellence: maintain standards in merchandising, inventory, and store procedures.
• Accountability & ownership: lead the store when the Manager isn’t present.
• Adaptability: stay calm and solution-focused during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to ensure all operations meet company standards, including opening/closing, scheduling, cash wrap, inventory, loss prevention, POS, and safety.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and on-brand, including drying and caring for footwear and maintaining water installations and fixtures.
• Support in-store community events and activations.
• Recruit and onboard Sales Associates and Team Leads who reflect Vessi’s vision and values.
• Build weekly schedules and labour plans with the Store Manager, and manage time-off requests.
• Train Team Leads and Sales Associates on product knowledge, SOPs, and selling best practices.
• Drive engagement and build a strong store culture where the team feels recognized and motivated.
• Coach team members through day-to-day issues and elevate to the Store Manager when needed.

Assistant Store Manager (Full-Time) – Metrotown, Burnaby

Wage: $24-$32/hour

What You’ll Do

Store Operations

Performance

• Lead by example on the sales floor and hold the team to consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets
• Monitor and act on key metrics including sales per hour (SPH), average transaction value (ATV), conversion, net promoter score (NPS), and inventory KPIs
• Champion a customer-first mindset and live out our core values as a Vessi brand ambassador
