Job summary

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Driver in Ontario to pick, stage and deliver parts to pro customers, while fostering relationships and promoting sales programs. You will handle returns, maintain inventory, and assist with upselling and cross-selling efforts to improve average transaction value.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, high school diploma, and a customer-service mindset. Flexibility for days, evenings, and weekends is expected, with safety and accuracy in daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • Speak and write English; communicate effectively and build relationships with customers, peers and leadership.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedures.
  • Use basic math to perform unit conversions and determine totals; ability to work varying day/evening/weekend shifts.
  • Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques.
  • Interest in upselling and cross-selling to increase transaction value.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers.

Position Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
  • Daily collection of credit accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned

Prior Experience that Sets a Driver up for Success

  • Automotive parts experience is preferred

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation Range: The range of expected compensation for this role is between 17.60 CAD and 18.85 CAD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered to a successful candidate depends on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other skillsets ideal for this position and shift differential (if applicable).
