Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a Delivery Associate to pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers, handle returns, and promote current sales and loyalty programs.

You will engage walk-in customers, upsell and cross-sell products, maintain store cleanliness, stock inventory, and build relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while sharing insights from deliveries to support store goals.

Qualifications

• Automotive parts experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work days, evenings and weekends.

Job description

Position Responsibilities

• Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross‑selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk‑in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Skills

• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques

Prior Experience

Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

Compensation range: 17.60 to 18.85 CAD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered to a successful candidate depends on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles and other skill sets.
