Job summary

Sephora Canada is seeking a Store Director for the Halifax location. You will forecast sales and payroll with the District Manager, monitor performance, and drive store results while keeping expenses in line with budgets.

You will lead human resources, recruit and develop staff, and ensure a coaching culture that enables teams to deliver an exceptional client experience. On-site role with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior management experience in beauty, retail, or customer service.
• Proven track record coaching high-performing teams.
• Experience recruiting, staffing, and hiring across all store roles.
• Strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Effective business acumen with ability to analyze sales trends and meet KPIs.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing as a Store Director at Sephora

Store Budget & Business Results.

• Forecast sales and payroll with your District Manager to drive store results.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales results and communicate with staff members.
• Achieve store’s sales plans and operating profits while maintaining expenses. While managing and measuring the effectiveness of business strategies, adjusting when needed.
• Develop strategies to grow business, leveraging the customer loyalty program, events, product knowledge, and services.

Human Resources.

• Maintain optimum store staffing levels to deliver an exceptional client experience while adhering to budgetary goals.
• Recruit, interview, and hire for all positions according to business needs.
• Train, coach, delegate to supervise, and motivate department Managers and Leads to develop their leadership and business skills.
• Ensure a coaching culture is present that includes timely acknowledgement of successes, and feedback on opportunities. Both through day-to-day coaching and through quarterly development meetings.

Merchandising and Operations.

• Conduct inventories, maintain updated inventory records, and communicate inventory issues/concerns to key stakeholders.
• Make strategic and innovative merchandising decisions by Sephora’s concepts when necessary, to grow the business.

We’d love to hear from you if

• You have a minimum of 5+ years of senior management experience in the beauty, retail, or customer service industry.
• You have a proven track record of coaching a high-performing team and have a passion for training, development, and education.
• You have previous experience recruiting, staffing, and hiring across all store positions, including leadership.
• You are effective in time management, problem-solving, and communication both verbal and written. With experience in Windows, Word, and Excel.
• You have no difficulty maintaining composure and possess strong managerial courage to have tough conversations when needed.
• You have strong business acumen and the ability to analyze sales trends and react appropriately, with a proven track record of meeting or achieving targets or KPIs.
• You love to learn and grow, always finding new ways to level up, whether that’s through formal schooling or education through professional experience.

Location, Availability, and Physical Requirements

• On-site: You will work at the location specified in the job posting.
• Scheduling: Flexibility is key! We need you to be available during evenings, weekends, and holidays when our clients are eager to shop and explore.
• Physical Requirements: Our stores are a fragrance-filled environment. You must be able to bend and stretch to stock shelves, as well as lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

The compensation ranges between CAD$ - CAD$.
