Job summary

The Job Resource Centre in Banff is seeking a store associate to assist management in daily operations, including sales, inventory, and customer service, starting October 1, 2026.

You will learn product knowledge, how to use Shopify POS, online orders, pricing, and merchandising, and you will help with opening and closing the store.

This role requires independent work, multitasking during low staff periods, and a commitment to keeping the store clean, organized and visually appealing.

Qualifications

• Must learn product knowledge including styles, pricing and garment care.
• Learn back-end and front-end of Shopify, enter inventory and product details.
• Understand how to prepare orders and ship to customers.
• Learn how we treat our customers in-store and manage special requests.

Responsibilities

• Aid management in daily store functions.
• Learn all aspects of store operations including sales, inventory and customer service.
• Open and close the store and manage the alarm system.
• Merchandise the store and set up displays for the current season.

What do I need to learn?

PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE: (this is the most important part of the job).

• Learning every style of the inventory
• Learning the fit of every style
• Learning the aspect of every style: content, where it is made, the story behind it.
• Learning the pricing
• How to wash the garment

POS TERMINAL:

• Know how Shopify works.
• Learning the back end as well as the front end of Shopify
• How to enter inventory and product
• How to produce the pricing and bar codes
• How to control the inventory between the stores

ONLINE SALES

• Know how to prepare orders.
• Knowledge of all the shipping methods to customers
• Knowledge of Shopify system of the online

CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Organizing customers special request and following through when the inventory arrives
• Learning how we treat our customers that shop in the store.

OPERATION AND ORGANIZATION OF THE STORES:

• Opening and Closing
• Alarm System
• Organization and Merchandising of the store
• Cleanliness of the Stores.

MERCHANDISING

• Setting up the store for the current season
• Organizing signage for displays and merchandise.
• Keeping the flow of the store visual and exciting.
• Tagging and apparel organization

Must be able to work independently. Make decisions based on your skill set you have learned.

• At times in low season, you must be able to multitask and complete tasks on your own, when there is little staff.
