Job summary

Birks, a luxury jewellery retailer established in 1879, is seeking a Store Administrator for the Yorkdale Shopping Centre location, working Saturdays and Sundays. The role supports sales and client service, coordinates transactions, repairs, shipping and receiving, and partners with sales professionals to deliver memorable experiences for clients.

Ideal candidates bring at least two years of retail sales experience (jewelry luxury preferred) and strong organizational and communication skills,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail sales experience; luxury jewelry experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of administrative experience.
• Goal oriented with sales drive and focus on client service.

Responsibilities

• Foster a client-centric environment.
• Assist clients with purchases, repairs or service requests.
• Support Sales Professionals and Store Management with concerns and special requests.
• Process sales transactions accurately.
• Administer transfer requests including shipping/receiving and packing slips.
• Ensure merchandise is cleaned, tagged, boxed and gift-wrapped when requested.
• Ensure appraisals are documented and mailed for store-level purchases.

The Store Administrator plays a crucial role behind the scenes as he/she is responsible for all the administrative details that support sales and client service in the store. This highly-organized and detail-oriented position is the foundation for back office operations of the store. This position supports the management team in all functions, including transactions and repairs, shipping and receiving of merchandise and partners with the sales professionals to ensure a memorable experience for all clients.

To do so, the Store Administratorwill be expected to

• Foster an environmentthat puts the client at the forefront
• Assist clients withtheir purchase, repair or service request
• Provide assistance toSales Professionals and Store Management with their concerns and specialrequests
• Process salestransactions accurately
• Administer transferrequests including the shipping and receiving of merchandise and filing ofincoming and outgoing packing slips in corresponding files
• Ensure merchandisepurchased is properly cleaned, price tag removed, packaged in its correspondingbox and gift wrapped if requested
• Ensure appraisals aredocumented and mailed out on a timely basis for new purchases done at storelevel.
• A minimum of two (2)years of retail sales experience; luxury retail and/or jewelry experience ispreferred
• A minimum of two (2)years of experience in an administrative role;
• Is goal oriented andsales driven but understand that truly caring about clients and exceeding theirexpectations is key to their success;
