Job summary

Explore Edmonton Corporation is seeking a Kitchen Steward Supervisor for the Edmonton EXPO Centre. This temporary role runs from October to December 23, 2026, overseeing a stewarding team and ensuring clean, safe back-of-house operations for diverse events.

The position offers mentoring and growth within event/hospitality operations, with flexible scheduling and employee perks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel or convention setting.
  • Post-secondary degree in Hospitality Management or related program.
  • Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, food safety, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead kitchen stewards in cleaning and sanitizing flatware, glassware, and silverware.
  • Maintain warewashing areas and storage rooms.
  • Set up service stations and food plating areas to readiness.
  • Coordinate requisitions from Banquets, Culinary, and other departments.

About the Position

The Edmonton EXPO Centre is looking for kitchen Steward Supervisor to join our Stewarding team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining clean, safe, and organized kitchen and back‑of‑house areas while supporting the successful execution of the diverse events hosted at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

Note: This is a temporary position from October to December 23, 2026.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Kitchen Stewards in cleaning and sanitizing all flatware, glassware, and silverware, maintaining cleaning tools and supplies, and storing them in designated areas.
  • Ensure the upkeep and preservation of the warewashing rooms, chinaware storage room, cleaning and non-cleaning storage rooms, and food preparation rooms.
  • Set up and maintain all service stations, clearing stations, and food plating areas to ensure they are ready for their intended purpose.
  • Ensure all requisitions from Banquets, Culinary, and other departments are completed and positioned accordingly.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hotel or convention setting.
  • A post‑secondary degree in Hospitality Management or a related program is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, food safety, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
