Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Steward at Scotiabank Arena to bridge the culinary and warehouse teams. You will help deliver orders to correct locations, assist with deliveries, and ensure product quality for fans and teams during events.

The role requires lifting 25–50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in cold or wet environments. Food safety training and punctual, reliable teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in stewarding/culinary/kitchen porter is desirable.
• Food Handler certificate is preferred or required.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, stand long periods, and work in cold/wet conditions.
• Ability to push heavy carts from warehouse to kitchens.
• Team player who is punctual, reliable and focused on cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Audit culinary requisitions and purchase orders on arrival to verify accuracy and volumes.
• Maintain safety protocols in warehouse and kitchen areas.
• Learn products used in food service to ensure quality for fans and teams.
• Receive and store deliveries; rotate stock per FIFO; maintain temp controls.
• Maintain daily Purchase Order accuracy and report shorts to the chef team.

You will support the Food and Beverage Team by delivering orders to the right locations, and aiding in properly putting away the deliveries and assessing the quality of product being delivered. You will assist with receiving as needed to ensure timely service for events and venue outlets.RESPONSIBILITIESAudit the culinary requisitions and the purchase order upon product arrival to verify order is accurate and in the correct volumes.Maintain safety protocols while in both warehouse and kitchen areas.Educate themselves on the products being used in our food service areas to ensure product knowledge and quality for our fans and teams.Receive and store deliveries; rotate stock per FIFO and maintain proper temperature controls.Maintain daily Purchase Order accuracy and communicate shorts immediately to the chef team.Follow food safety and HACCP/hand-washing procedures; hold required Food Handler certification.QUALIFICATIONSPrevious stewarding/culinary/kitchen porter experience desirable.Food Handler certificate preferred/required.Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, stand for long periods and work in cold/wet conditions.Ability to push heavy carts from warehouse to kitchens.Team player, punctual, reliable, strong attention to cleanliness and safety.Shift work including early mornings, weekends, and holidays; event-driven.May require rapid pace during service windows.Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:$24.70 / hourWe’re glad you’re here.
