Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Kitchen Cleaner to maintain cleanliness of pots, pans, china, and dining areas at Scotiabank Arena. You will support other kitchen staff by ensuring supplies are available and equipment is ready for use.

Responsibilities include operating dishwashing equipment, washing pots, adhering to WHMIS, sweeping and mopping floors, and assisting with receiving and storage of deliveries. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Punctual and dependable with flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work well in a small team and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean conveyor dishwashers and pot washer safely and efficiently.
• Scrape and wash pots and return to designated area.
• Handle cleaning chemicals per WHMIS/MSDS guidelines.
• Sweep and mop floors, clean counters and shelves, manage recycling and waste.
• Assist in receiving and storage of deliveries and supplies.
• Empty and clean recycling bins and manage disposal.
• Comply with MLSE service standards and Health & Safety policies.
• Perform additional cleaning and kitchen duties as required.

You will also assist other kitchen staff by ensuring that product and supplies are available and that equipment is clean and ready for use.RESPONSIBILITIESOperate and clean the conveyor dishwashing machines and pot washer in a safe, organized and efficient manner.Scrape and thoroughly wash pots, and return to designated area.Adhere to WHMIS and MSDS principles to safely handle cleaning supplies and other chemicals.Sweep and mop floor, clean counters and shelves, and collect and remove recycling and waste.Assist in the receiving and storage of incoming product and delivery of supplies to proper areas.Empty and clean recycling bins; storage, drop off and disposal of recycling bins.Adhere to all MLSE service standards and policies including Health & Safety.Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.Perform other cleaning and kitchen duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSPunctual, dependable, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Work well with other people on a small team.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Previous experience in a kitchen environment (or interest in learning more)is an asset.Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:$20 / hourWe’re glad you’re here.
