Fairmont Palliser in Calgary invites you to join our luxury hotel team as a part-time Steward Helper. You will support the kitchen, help prepare exceptional cuisine, and report to the Chief Steward in a fast-paced environment.

We value teamwork, safety, and sustainability as we deliver elevated guest experiences. The role emphasizes collaboration with kitchen colleagues and adherence to WHMIS and food safety policies.

Formación

• One year of previous experience in a similar position is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Should be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Strong organizational skills.
• A strong capacity to work with and motivate a culturally diverse workforce.
• Energetic, self-motivated, proactive, out-going, team-player.

Responsabilidades

• Provide professional, friendly, proactive service to guests and colleagues.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure health & safety standards are met.
• Follow food safety and hygiene policies at all times.
• Complete temperature records accurately.
• Deliver a clean and sanitary work area and equipment in all Food & Beverage areas.
• Perform daily cleaning duties of all F&B back spaces and equipment.
• Operate the main dishwashers and restock equipment in all Food and Beverage areas.
• Maintain proper recycling and composting procedures.
• Assist the Kitchen team with food service delivery as needed.
• Have good knowledge of WHMIS.
• Support sustainability and waste reduction/diversion policies and programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Palliser as our new Steward Helper (Part-time). Inspire and create the grandest experience for our guest, clients and colleagues every day. As a Steward Helper, you will play an important role in support of your colleagues and the preparation of exceptional cuisine. Reporting to the Chief Steward.

Key Responsibilities

• Consistently offers professional, friendly and proactive service to all our guest and colleagues


• Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed, and has the knowledge and tools to work safely


• Maintains awareness of, and ensures compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and that procedures are followed at all times


• Completes all temperature records, honestly and correctly


• Delivers a clean & sanitary work area and equipment in all Food & Beverage areas, including the staff cafeteria & Fairmont Gold Lounge


• Performs daily cleaning duties of all F&B back spaces and equipment


• Operates the main dishwashers and restocks equipment in all Food and Beverage areas.


• Maintains proper recycling and composting procedures


• Assists the Kitchen team with food service delivery as needed


• Has good knowledge of WHIMIS


• Maintains awareness of, and ensures compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel


• Performs other duties as assigned
