Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. The MDRT will decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize medical devices and hospital products for patient care, supporting operating rooms and related areas.

The role requires a Grade 12 education with an MDR reprocessing course and one year of recent related experience; candidates should have strong terminology knowledge, numerical aptitude, communication

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course with 1 year of related experience.
• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate with others and operate related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, test, assemble, package, wrap, sterilize and distribute hospital products.
• Restock operating and delivery rooms per written procedures.
• Provide input on observations and interactions with patients to the unit-based team.
