UHN, Canada's leading hospital, is hiring a Medical Device Reprocessor for the Toronto General Hospital site. The role involves maintaining sterility, processing instruments, and updating records across stations.

You will handle over 1000 instruments and support decontamination workflows with high attention to detail. The ideal candidate completes a sterile processing certificate or CSAO course with MDRD experience; CSAO membership is an asset.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post secondary certificate up to one year in Sterile Supplies Processing Techniques which includes a four week practicum OR completion of the Central Services Association of Ontario (CSAO) course, plus one year MDRD experience or equivalent
• CSAO membership is an asset
• Proficient in the correct operation of all processing equipment
• Knowledge of instrument technology
• Knowledge of case cart picking procedure
• Knowledge of sterilization/decontamination procedures/methods
• Knowledge of microbiology principles
• Knowledge of WHMIS
• Knowledge of OHSA and related legislation
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Ability to understand detailed forms and manuals
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Compliance with safety and infection control requirements
• Ability to multi-task and exercise good judgement
• Respect for privacy and confidentiality
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work across multiple areas and shifts in emergencies

Responsabilités

• Performing procedures at multiple stations that are part of the equipment re-use decontamination process
• Checking and preparing supplies and inventory
• Performing high temperature steam, low temperature ethylene oxide and other sterilization methods
• Entering and updating records in a timely manner
• Identifying and inventorying instruments from over 1000 pieces
• Performing picking and issuing responsibilities
• Maintaining the mobile Respiratory Therapy crash cart
• Inventory control to support other departments
