Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking an RS Improvement Facilitator to identify, develop, and implement improvements in processes, products, and production within the Roll Shop. You will drive continuous improvement with QIS principles, collaborate with maintenance and operations, and design new or revamped structures, systems, and equipment to boost efficiency and reduce variation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Materials Science.
• 1–3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, supervisory or facilitation roles.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent software.
• Experience with MasterCAM, SmartCAM, or equivalent CNC programs for milling machines and lathes.
• Experience in project management.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of business systems and complex technical and engineering processes.
• Exposure to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and develop employees.
• Exposure to inventory management.
• Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of working effectively with employees at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and implement opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production.
• Develop and refine standards, structures, systems, and equipment to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement through the application of methodologies, QIS improvement principles, technical and engineering tools.
• Collaborate with Routine Facilitators and other staff within the assigned area.
• Identify and solve chronic/repetitive problems and reduce process variation through data analysis.
• Assist with development of the Annual Action Plan and administration of policies and procedures.
• Implement and coordinate CAPEX and Annual Action Plan Improvement projects.
• Oversee daily improvement management activities and provide timely cost estimates for proposed improvements.
• Design new and revamp existing structures, systems, and equipment.
