The Steel Fabricator creates and constructs patterns and guides as templates for metal cutting, assembles, fits and welds metal sections and plates, and installs fabricated components into final products. This role operates a variety of light and heavy machinery to perform precise cuts, form components, and assemble complete units or subassemblies, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in a yard and marine-oriented environment, including confined spaces and elevated areas up to approximately 25 feet. You will regularly use wire feed welding machines, brake presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and heavy machine tools such as radial drills, end mills, and edge planers. The standard shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime potentially required based on workload and project demands. Travel to off-site locations may be required to support field or marine projects. The dress code includes steel-toed safety boots and a welding helmet, with safety glasses or goggles provided on site. Coveralls are supplied, and you are expected to bring basic personal tools such as a chipping hammer. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety procedures, clean and orderly work areas, and collaboration within a hands-on, industrial setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, BC.
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
