Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will run your own production line, primarily operating slitting machines. Your role involves setting up the machine with knives and clearances to ensure the finished product is produced efficiently. The role requires handling coils of rolled steel, with the heaviest setting involving lifting up to 25 lbs. Safety is paramount due to the sharpness of cut steel. Additionally, you may be required to operate a forklift and an overhead crane, as well as package products for shipping.

• Set up machines with appropriate knives and clearances.

• Ensure the quality of the finished product.

• Lift and handle up to 25 lbs. safely.

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Overhead crane experience is a plus.

You will work in a small family-owned company located in a newly expanded facility in Cambridge. The company specializes in cutting and distributing steel across North America. The warehouse and production area currently employs 10 people, and the team is growing with new expansions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
