Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises LP (BME) is seeking Steamer Labourers for a 4-6 month temporary role in the Fort McMurray region. The position requires a valid Class 5 license and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Preference given to candidates with prior site experience and steam truck operation knowledge. Employees will service washbays and wash ramps, maintain safety compliance, and complete daily inspections.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Class 5 license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Experience on industrial sites is an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate washbay and wash ramp equipment and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements and safety procedures
  • Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and documentation
  • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
  • Work in all weather conditions and at heights, near haul trucks and mining support equipment
  • Follow supervisor instructions and attend toolbox meetings as scheduled
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Birch Mountain Enterprises LP (BME) is hiring Steamer Labourers for 4-6 month temporary positions, with the potential to become permanent. (NO FLIGHTS, NO CAMP)

The minimum requirement for this position is a Class 5 license.

Job Summary:

Operating from CNRL, this position is physically demanding and involves the servicing of the washbay and wash ramp cleaning equipment, Light vehicles and parts. Labourers should be physically fit to work in all weather conditions. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in the operation of high-pressure steam trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proper use of specialized P.P.E. while performing daily duties.
  • Completion of daily documentation, including but not limited to field-level Hazard assessment, near-miss, and Hazard IDs, pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Execute daily work instructions received from supervision, dispatch, or management in a timely manner.
  • Complete daily housekeeping/cleaning to ensure maintenance of the company image.
  • Maintain the work area and ensure it’s safe and organized.
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
  • Clear work areas by removing debris and hazardous materials, and assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
  • Operate high-pressure monitor for steam cleaning.
  • Steaming equipment in all weather conditions with a pressure washer while wearing full PPE and a rain suit.
  • Working at heights.
  • Working near haul trucks/mining support equipment.
  • Working around chemicals.
  • Complete pre-wash inspection checklist.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 operator’s license (non GLD) with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Previous site experience is an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • CSTS and OSSA, BSO, or CSO Certification.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (will be doing a lot of lifting and working outdoors).
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with all colleagues.

  • 7 on, 7 off shift rotation. Days and Nights
