Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises LP is seeking Steamer Labourers for a roughly two-month temporary assignment with potential to convert to a permanent role. The position, based in the Fort McMurray region at CNRL, involves servicing wash bays and wash ramps, and handling light vehicles and parts in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class 5 license (non GLD) with a clean driver01s abstract.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Able to speak, read, and write in English.
• CSTS and OSSA, BSO, or CSO Certification.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Proper use of PPE during daily duties.
• Complete daily hazard assessments and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Follow daily work instructions from supervision/management.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and organization.
• Attend toolbox and safety meetings and adhere to site safety procedures.
• Operate steam cleaning equipment and high-pressure monitors as required.
• Perform duties at heights and around haul trucks/mining support equipment.
• Complete the pre-wash inspection checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.

Operating from CNRL, this position is physically demanding and involves the servicing of the washbay and wash ramp cleaning equipment, Light vehicles and parts. Labourers should be physically fit to work in all weather conditions. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in the operation of high-pressure steam trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proper use of specialized P.P.E. while performing daily duties.
• Completion of daily documentation, including but not limited to field-level Hazard assessment, near-miss, and Hazard IDs, pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Execute daily work instructions received from supervision, dispatch, or management in a timely manner.
• Complete daily housekeeping/cleaning to ensure maintenance of the company image.
• Maintain the work area and ensure it's safe and organized.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
• Clear work areas by removing debris and hazardous materials, and assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
• Steaming equipment in all weather conditions with a pressure washer while wearing full PPE and a rain suit.
• Working at heights.
• Working around chemicals.
• Complete pre-wash inspection checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• CSTS and OSSA, BSO, or CSO Certification.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screening.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (will be doing a lot of lifting and working outdoors).
• Must be able to work collaboratively with all colleagues.

Compensation and Schedule:

• Competitive hourly rates
• 7 on, 7 off shift rotation. Days and Nights
