Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, VA seeks a Production Planner II to build a practical two-week schedule and ensure material readiness for on-time delivery. You will work with Master Planner, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Inventory to optimize flow and minimize disruptions.

This role supports a new factory startup for large form-factor equipment, coordinating readiness reviews, ECN/deviation processes, and maintaining planning data to enable seamless production from day one.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• 2-5 years of production planning, manufacturing planning, or scheduling in manufacturing.
• Experience with SAP and ERP/MRP systems; knowledge of planning processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across Planning, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Operations.
• APICS/CPIM certification or inventory control experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Release and manage planned orders to support production requirements.
• Monitor material readiness and identify shortages through regular reviews.
• Partner with Purchasing to expedite materials and resolve supply issues.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Master Planner to adjust schedules and minimize changeovers.
• Support on-time delivery through effective schedule management and follow-up.
• Coordinate readiness reviews for new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Manage ECN, deviation, and purge processes.
• Maintain planning data, documentation, and packout systems.
• Ensure shipments are routed correctly and support sales order maintenance.
• Develop understanding of product flow and manufacturing operations.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to support production objectives.
