Job summary

Jabil is seeking an engineering leader to drive the startup of a new factory in Prince George, VA, focusing on large form-factor equipment and end-to-end process development. You will lead equipment selection, installation, and commissioning, and build production layouts and workflows for a safe, efficient plant.

You will collaborate across R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality, and mentor a growing team while delivering on schedule and cost targets for a complex manufacturing program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering for manufacturing startups or expansions.
• Proven experience with large form-factor equipment manufacturing.
• Strong background in process development, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering projects for the new factory startup, including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
• Develop manufacturing processes, workflows, and production layouts for a new plant.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain and Quality to define scope and timelines.
• Identify and procure critical manufacturing equipment and tooling within budget.
• Conduct process analysis, capacity planning, and bottleneck identification for ramp-up.
• Maintain project docs including specs, process flows, FMEAs, and work instructions.
• Oversee training of production personnel on new equipment and processes.
• Monitor KPIs to track progress and performance.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and early production.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
